Abstract

Road pavements built in the area influenced by mining works are subjected to additional loads leading to the reduction of layer stiffness. The most dangerous for road surface performance is the tensile horizontal strain. The performed investigation provided an estimation of the level of elasticity reduction of road pavement layers as a function of horizontal ravelling strain. The tests were carried out on the testing ground (public road) in the natural scale along the whole period of subsidence trough formation. In the successive testing cycles the measurements of road pavement deflection were carried out using a falling weight deflectometer FWD, and the geodesic survey of coordinates was made. In the last measurement cycle, the inventory of the road pavement was drawn up. Visual inspection was performed during the whole testing process.
