Abstract

In the paper the optimisation of green light time split between different road users (pedestrians and vehicles) at pedestrian crossing is presented. Two objective functions, that include sum and difference of average delays of users are proposed. Decision variables and constraints are presented. The optimisation using two objective functions gives different results and using the difference of average delays prefers pedestrians, that is shown on presented numerical examples. The use of specific objective function can prefer to various degree either pedestrians or vehicles.
