Model of bridge interaction with a continuous rail track subjected to temperature changes

Joanna Stefanek , Wiesław Szumierz

Abstract

The paper presents the mathematical and mechanical model describing the phenomenon of a bridge interaction with continuous rail track under the influence of temperature changes. The considerations include the elastic stage and elastic-plastic stage of the foundation behavior. Results of the analysis are illustrated by means of numerical examples, presenting characteristics of the distributions of horizontal interactions, as well as additional displacements and axial stresses of the track, caused by bridge span thermal movements.
